MPTAAS Scholarship Not Received — Reasons and What to Do

MPTAAS scholarship not received in bank account is one of the most stressful situations for students who applied on time and received approval. Several specific reasons cause this — and each requires a different action to resolve.

First — Check Your Application Status

Login to tribal.mp.gov.in/MPTAAS and check your application status. If it shows Sanctioned or Payment Processed but amount has not arrived, that is a bank transfer issue. If it shows College Verified but not District Approved, the delay is at the district office level. For a full status guide see our article on MPTAAS application status.

Reason 1 — Bank Account Not Linked to Aadhaar

MPTAAS transfers via DBT require your bank account to be Aadhaar-linked. If not linked, the payment is returned by NPCI. Check with your bank branch whether your account is Aadhaar-seeded. If not, submit the Aadhaar linking form immediately. See our guide on linking Aadhaar with MPTAAS.

Reason 2 — Bank Account Is Dormant

An account with no transactions for over 12 months becomes dormant. DBT transfers to dormant accounts are rejected by the bank. Visit your branch, make a small transaction to reactivate the account, and ask your scholarship coordinator to re-initiate the transfer thereafter.

Reason 3 — Name Mismatch Between Aadhaar and Bank Account

Your Aadhaar name must exactly match your bank account name for DBT to succeed. Compare both documents character by character. Correct whichever has the error — update the bank records or request an Aadhaar name correction through UIDAI.

Reason 4 — Application Stuck at College Verification

Your college scholarship coordinator must verify and forward your application to the district office. If they have not done this, the application never moves to the payment stage. Visit the college accounts or scholarship office in person with your application acknowledgment number.

How to Raise a Complaint for Missing Payment

  1. Login to MPTAAS portal and use the Grievance section to submit a payment complaint
  2. Call MPTAAS helpline 1800-2333-951 with your application number and bank details
  3. Visit the district Tribal Welfare Office with printed acknowledgment and bank passbook
  4. Contact your MLA or local government representative if unresolved after 60 days

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How long does MPTAAS scholarship take to come after approval?

After district-level approval, the MPTAAS scholarship payment usually takes 30–60 days to reach your bank account. During bulk processing, it may take up to 90 days.

2. MPTAAS says “Payment Processed” but money is not in the account — why?

First check your bank statement for any returned transaction. Visit your bank branch and ask if any NPCI/DBT transfer was received and returned. If there is an Aadhaar linking issue, fix it and contact MPTAAS to re-initiate the payment.

3. Can I check MPTAAS payment status online?

Yes. You can log in to the MPTAAS portal and check your application status. You can also visit pfms.nic.in and use the “Know Your Payment” option with your Aadhaar or bank account number.

4. My college has not verified my MPTAAS application — what should I do?

Visit your college scholarship coordinator with your application acknowledgment number. If they do not respond, contact the district education office or the tribal welfare office.

5. MPTAAS scholarship was approved last year but rejected this year — why?

This usually happens due to an expired income certificate, changing college without a fresh application, or Aadhaar-bank linking issues. Check the rejection reason on the portal for exact details.
