MPTAAS OTP not coming blocks students at login, registration, and password reset. Since the portal relies on SMS OTP for almost every action, a delivery failure can stop your scholarship application completely. Six fixes resolve this in most cases.
Why MPTAAS OTP Is Not Coming
- DND (Do Not Disturb) active on your mobile number
- Registered mobile is different from your current number
- MPTAAS server under high load during scholarship season
- Clicked Resend OTP too many times — system temporarily blocked further SMS
- Mobile network has SMS delivery delay in your area
- Mobile number changed but not updated on MPTAAS
Fix 1 — Check DND Status
Call 1909 from your mobile to check DND status. SMS START 0 to 1909 to deactivate full DND. Wait 24 hours after deactivating before trying MPTAAS again. Some operators apply stricter DND filters that occasionally block government OTPs as well.
Fix 2 — Wait and Retry at Off-Peak Hours
During September to November scholarship season, the MPTAAS SMS gateway gets overloaded. OTPs may take 10 to 20 minutes to arrive. Do not keep clicking Resend — each click generates a new OTP and invalidates the previous one. Wait at least 3 to 5 minutes. Additionally, try before 10 AM or after 8 PM when server load is lower.
Fix 3 — Confirm Your Registered Mobile Number
OTP is sent to the number you registered during MPTAAS sign-up — not your current number if it has changed. Check your original registration confirmation SMS for the number used. If you no longer have access to that number, contact MPTAAS helpline to update it.
Fix 4 — Check SMS from Specific Senders
MPTAAS OTPs arrive from sender number 14546 or from sender names MPTAAS or MPGOV. Check your SMS inbox and Spam or Junk folder specifically for these senders. Some Android phones filter system messages into a separate folder automatically.
Fix 5 — Try a Different Network
Certain mobile networks have SMS delivery issues with government portals. Ask a family member on a different network to test, or visit a Common Service Centre (CSC) where staff have setups that work reliably with government portals during scholarship season.
Fix 6 — Contact Helpline to Update Number
If your registered mobile is no longer active, call MPTAAS helpline at 1800-2333-951 between 10 AM and 5 PM on weekdays. Request a mobile number update with your Samagra ID and Aadhaar as identity proof. See the full MPTAAS helpline guide for more contact options.
